This is one of those places where, they cook and serve "for themselves" and of course for you, the customer... But not for reviews/ stars/ etc.
Owning a home in Provincetown and being from the NY Metro area, we are used to great food and restaurants. We decided to take a drive and try this highly rated place in Wellfleet. Marked as modern Italian it is anything but. It deserves it's own category of innovative and farm fresh gourmet. If you are a foodie, start driving. They have a prix fix meal with two seatings. The chef decides and it is worth every moment of the mystery. Every dish was unusual in preparation and every bite absolutely perfectly prepared and stunningly delicious. Blake snuck us in, unfamiliar with the seating times and we had small plates at the bar that were beyond. It has won awards and deserves every one. Looking for a special night out or your one pricier dinner, this is the place to plan...
I have been to this place two or three times in as many years, and all I can say is that I so look forward to this years visit! The food is as good as anything I have had in Manhattan, or San Francisco, or Chicago, or Dallas, to name a few locales. I remember one year that my friend and I literally licked the plates clean, it was so good. I know, tres gauche, but I was more than willing to sacrifice a little pride for just a touch more of that glorious dish. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! There's no pretense or snobbery here, and that makes me happy. The focus is entirely on making the guests happy, and they certainly do!
There is very real passion, regarding the food and willingness to take a risk. The execution is excellent and you come away having an experience. The service is relaxed and welcoming. It isn't overly formal.
A relaxed atmosphere but an incredible experience.
I'm not going to go into a "blow-by-blow" of every course, but the food was quite delicious. Wine pairing were very strong and I'd absolutely go back.
Much of the philosophy if the restaurant is being VERY seasonal and local as possible. Farm to Table with an Italian as well as a global outlook. Local fish, meats and vegetables, done in a Seven Course menu that changes nightly.
Amazing food and dining experience. Al locally sourced food with incredible taste combinations. Reasonable priced for the quality. Two seatings daily, except Sundays, reservation necessary. A must visit place!
