Great food options.....the best oysters.......awesome displays of items created by local artisans.......the entertainment on the maim stage gets better with each year. .....and the oyster stout, brewed only for this event, by Samuel Adams, is the best beer that I've ever enjoyed..........proceeds go to SPAT ......a great event!
Can't to do it again
This will be our last year coming here. it used to be free admission and parking was free. Now it is $10 to get in and parking is like $15-20. And this year there were no oysters available due to some pollution in the harbor. The organizers didn't tell anyone that this was a possibility in advance, it wasn't until we purchased tickets online did we find out. Lately the oysterfest just seems like one big money grab. Thumbs down on the oysterfest.
What fun... even in the rain! I wasn't aware that oyster shucking was a something at which people compete?! We thoroughly enjoyed watching. Beer lines are super long... so get on line early. Don't wait... the lines are NOT going to go down! I found out I LOVE raw oysters!!!
Great time, great food, great people and amazing posters... What else can you ask for. It rained and we all still had a great time. Look out for chowder fries!!
